young (yng) adj. 4) Vigorous or fresh; youthful*

*youthful [yooth-fuhl] adj. in an early period of existence; early in time

Young Fresh Farmers is a forming non-profit dedicated to providing grant money to new (young and old!) farmers throughout New England and beyond who are committed to sustainable operations and community service.

The demand is growing for local, fresh, organic and biodynamically grown foods. We need Young Fresh Farmers, innovative minds, inventors, seekers, willing to stretch their muscles and their brains towards creating healthy ecosystems. And they probably need money! Land! Infrastructure!

We’re here to help. We also are here to encourage using gifted funds to pay-it-forward. Offer a workshop or a CSA membership to a family in need. Hone your skills with the new tractor and bring it to a neighbor’s farm. In little ways and big ways you can share the joys of abundance with your community.

Watch this space for profiles of new farmers in and around New England and beyond. Be inspired.

And then tell us your ideas, what sort of boost you need to get your dreams on the path toward realization. Or, if you’re just passionate about supporting small farms, spread the word about YFF and our fundraising events!
